Our Story

The Marlborough House is particularly suited for wedding celebrations.  Built at the turn of the 20th Century, the Edwardian compound perched atop a steep hill in the center of town creates a post card perfect New England tableau.  Originally built as a parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese, the church, Rectory, Cottage, Lawns, and surrounding gardens provide ample and diverse opportunities in which to create a storybook wedding celebration.

Wedding Packages

Wedding Package #1

 

 

A Do-It-Yourself Event, including: A single day venue rental of hall and ground floor

of the house. The venue is available for the full day of the event from 9:00am-12:00

midnight. The first floor of the house is available for the wedding party to get

ready and to assemble.

 

Ceremony:

100 white folding chairs available

  • • White drape set up to define the ceremony area

  • • Cocktail Hour: Three rooms on the first floor and the seasonal porch of the main house

  • are available for a cocktail hour between ceremony and reception.

• Reception:

  • 100 white folding chairs

  • 10 - 60” round tables

  • 4 - 36” round tables

  • 1 - 30” round table

  • 1 – 8’ buffet table

  • 2 - 6’ buffet tables

  • 4 - 5’ buffet tables

  • Linen for tables including napkins

• Lighting Package with tree branch designs on ceiling

• House sound system in main hall available for DJ

• Cash bar service includes one bartender and disposable glassware

• No event labor is included: Client is responsible for all set up and clean up as well

as changing the room over from Ceremony to Reception

 

This package includes a rental fee only. It is a budget friendly event. Please return the  

space in the condition in which you found it.

Wedding Package #2

 

 

Includes all the elements of Package 1 plus the following:

 

• Labor to set up chairs in venue prior to the ceremony

• Labor to set up and take down chairs and tables for the cocktail reception in the house

• Labor to changeover tables and chairs in the venue from the ceremony to the dinner   reception including

dressing of tables

• Labor for post event clean-up.

• TMH staff to set up for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception including placement of tables, chairs, linens,

centerpieces and table settings.

Wedding Package #3

 

 

Includes all the elements of Package 1 and Package 2 plus:

 

• Services of an event planner to help with day of planning and ordering including making arrangements for flowers, flatware, caterer, DJ, florist, limousine, accommodations, scheduling drop off and delivery Time

  • Finalorders and invoices are the responsibility of the client.

  •  Tableware includes

  •  4-piece place setting dinner, salad, appetizer and dessert plates

  • 4-piece flatware setting knife, dinner fork, salad fork, spoon

  • •Water glasses

Tell your unique Story

Our facility is comprised of two main buildings. The Main Hall is the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church building. The Main House is the adjacent rectory. Both Structures were built in 1896, and are connected by a small courtyard. As such, events at the property can be structured in various flow situations. For example, a wedding ceremony can happen in the Main Hall(church) followed by a cocktail hour on the ground floor of the Main House, porch, and grounds. During the cocktail hour, Marlborough House staff will reset the Main Hall(church ceremony) for dinner and dancing. When guests return to the Main Hall, they will be greeted by an entirely different atmosphere to their delight and amazement.
